A comedy about
ambition, dishonesty, greed, betrayal,
sex, Death and the Media
For Scott Martin, Olympic gold medallist and national hero, life has been great: successful, popular and making a tidy income on the celebrity speaking circuit. But now he has been caught out having an affair with his best mate's wife and his name is mud. Speaking gigs have dried up and nobody wants to know him. Wanda, Scott's manager, has a devious plan to resurrect his reputation: borrowing the idea from Layne Beachley's Aim for the Stars, Scott will mentor depressed teenage boys through a program of self-esteem through exercise. But 15 y.o. Adam may prove more of a challenge than Scott ever imagined... Bruce Hoogendoorn is a Canberra playwright. Bruce's plays Alice of Hearts and Blue Sky With Clouds have been produced in Canberra. The Role Model won the 2006 TheatreLab Award and was workshopped by Edward Albee at NIDA. The Rude
